catch up

Another weeek or so gone and we are now less than a year ago. Congratulations to my friend Claire who swam 2 weeks ago and their 6 man relay completed the swim. They had some tidal trouble and seasickness but made it in 16h30mins and the distance was a huge 33.3 miles.
She has said that it is now our turn next year and she hopes that we have a much easier time of than they did. Thanks Claire.
Training for all of us has been going along although all of us have had a setback or two we have picked up.
We had an interesting morning this morning being interviewed by Helen from TN16/CR6/CR2 magazines and we should have some exposure in September 2011 she also took a few pictures for the article too.
Good news for Lizzie is that she now has a good oportunity to get a good physio that understands EDS and will be able to treat her more effectively.
We have found a few relatively local resevoirs and lakes to train now and through the winter which is good news.
More news soon

swim update

Hi, well competions for all at the weekend. On Saturday Tim did his 3rd swim in the Great Swin Series and did a respectable 28 mins for the mile in London Docklands. Meanwhile Rod and Lizzie manned a patch at the Biggin Hill Festival and with the great weather we able to raise a respectable amount of money for the charities wearing the new t-shirts and displaying the news clipping from The Bromley News Shopper and the Biggin Hill News.
On Sunday Lizzie and Rod did a 3km (2mile) swim in Windsor in the Speedo Open Water series we both did well and finishe under the hour and within 90 secs of one another.
Since Karl is not able to carry on with the swimming we wish to welcome Paul Clarke to the team and look fwd to swimming and training with him.
Still looking for sponsors for the event and want loads of people to give to the charities on line on our web page.
Thanks for reading.
